I’m a writer and filmmaker living in London.
I direct independent films and freelance with others as a director, cameraperson, and editor.
My current filmmaking focuses on legacies of orphanhood. My shorts have screened at over 60 festivals, including Visions du Réel, the Viennale, and Sundance London, winning seven awards and screening on platforms such as Tënk, True Story and PBS’s POV. My work has received support from Film4, The Whickers, BFI Network, Sheffield Doc/Fest’s MeetMarket, and The NewBridge Project’s Collective Studio. I studied documentary filmmaking at the UK’s National Film and Television School and have served as a juror for the IDA Awards.
Past and current freelance clients include publishers (Granta Books), political parties (The Labour Party), charities (London Renter’s Union, Momentum), production companies (Brickwall, Compulsory, Manta Ray Media), the UK’s Trades Union Council, and the Francesca Galloway Gallery in Mayfair.
Before making films, I studied English at the University of Cambridge and worked in the music industry, directing an imprint of Moshi Moshi Records. My writing has appeared in publications such as Self & Society, 3:AM, and 4x3.
